All About Herbal Tea

A herbal tea, tisane, or ptisan is a herbal or plant infusion and usually not made from the leaves of the tea bush (Camellia sinensis). Typically, herbal tea is simply the combination of boiling water and dried fruits, flowers or herbs. Herbal tea has been imbibed for nearly as long as written history extends.

Herbal 'teas' contain no true tea leaves, but are created from an international collection of herbs and spices such as Moroccan rosebuds, Oregon mint, tropical hibiscus, cinnamon from Indonesia, and more. These all-natural botanical ingredients are combined to create exciting flavors and aromas in a rainbow of colors from pale yellow to deep red. Each Stash herbal tea has a unique taste and aroma. Our herbal teas are naturally caffeine free.

It was ancient Chinese herbalists who first appreciated the properties of tea. 5,000 years later, scientists are beginning to agree with them.
Herbal teas are often consumed for their physical or medicinal effects, especially for their stimulant, relaxant or sedative properties. The medicinal effects of certain herbs are discussed under herbalism.  Available as pure or blended samples, herbal teas are popular because of their fragrance, antioxidant properties and therapeutic applications.
